John L. Sabre
Chairman & CEO

Mr. Sabre has served as the Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner of Mount Yale since 2003. Prior to 2003, Mr. Sabre was a Senior Managing Director at Bear Stearns & Co. and Head of the Mezzanine Capital Group. Prior to his position at Bear Stearns, Mr. Sabre was a Managing Director and founding partner of the Merchant Banking division of Credit Agricole. Mr. Sabre also was employed in the investment banking groups of Credit Suisse First Boston and Drexel Burnham Lambert. Mr. Sabre holds a B.S. degree from the Carlson School at the University of Minnesota and an M.B.A. degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Greg D. Anderson

Mr. Anderson is the President of Mount Yale and co-founded the firm in 1999. Prior to that, Mr. Anderson was a Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Investment Manager Search, Evaluation, and Due Diligence at Portfolio Management Consultants, Inc. Mr. Anderson was previously employed with Deloitte & Touche where he specialized in the areas of estate planning, health care, non-profit organizations, and tax and personal finance planning for high net worth individuals. Mr. Anderson holds a B.A. degree from Hamline University in Minnesota and a J.D. from the University of Minnesota School of Law. Mr. Anderson is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive).

Michael J. Sabre
Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Sabre joined Mount Yale in 2003 and oversees compliance, finance, accounting, and administration. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Sabre was with JP Morgan in New York, where he worked with the Private Banking Group as well as Latin American Finance Department. For approximately 10 years, Mr. Sabre managed a private equity firm that focused on health care, manufacturing and real estate. He holds a B.S. in Economics from the University of Minnesota and earned an M.B.A. from The Anderson School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Daniel J. Amen
General Counsel

Mr. Amen joined Mount Yale in 2014 and serves as its General Counsel. Prior to that time, he practiced law for 32 years with the Corporate Group at Faegre Baker Daniels (formerly, Faegre & Benson) in Minneapolis, Minnesota where he advised clients on M&A transactions and complex financings ranging in size up to over a billion dollars. He holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration (concentration in accounting) from the University of Nebraska and has passed the CPA exam. He received his J.D. degree also from the University of Nebraska where he was a member of the Nebraska Law Review.

Lisa Lee
Advisor Services Director

Lisa joined Mount Yale as an operations analyst in 2007. Prior to that, Lisa worked as a public relations and communications specialist at Supervalu Inc. and B. Dalton Bookseller. She has worked in various writing and editing positions which include television copywriting and as a legislative writer at the Minnesota House of Representatives. Lisa received her B.A. degree in English from St. Catherine University and an M.A. degree in English from Binghamton University. Lisa holds a Series 7 license.

Eric Englebrecht
Senior Vice President of Sales

Eric is responsible for implementation of investment strategies and management of relationships for key clients and advisors. Prior to joining Mt. Yale in 2000, he worked as a Supervisor for Merrill Lynch, overseeing the stock option plans for Intel, Coke and SBC executives. Eric has a B.S. degree in Finance from Tulane University, New Orleans, Louisiana. Eric is Series 7 and 66 registered.

David Gottesman
Senior Vice President of Sales

David joined Mount Yale in 2007 to work with sophisticated wealth planners to implement investment mandates using strategies and portfolio designs to meet investor goals. David focuses on single-stock risk management, generational wealth transfer, cash-flow strategies, and long term private investing. Previously, he was a senior Advanced Case Designer for ING Life, Co-Director of Internal Life Sales, and Senior Relationship Manager for a large national account. David also directed case design and product selection for a Florida based private wealth firm.

Adam Duff
Vice President, Business Development

Adam is responsible for implementation of investment strategies and management of relationships for key clients and advisors. Prior to joining Mount Yale, Adam was a Sales Associate for a Minneapolis-based Alternative Investment firm with extensive experience in Alternative Investment strategies, portfolio management, sales distribution, and relationship building. Adam also worked as a Fixed Income Sales Associate with Piper Jaffray focusing on high net worth and Institutional clients. Adam attended the University of Minnesota and is also Series 7 and 63 licensed.

Mike Klever
Director, Internal Business Development

Mike came to Mount Yale in 2008 from Merrill Lynch with extensive experience in client services, product management and relationship building, primarily with institutional level and high net worth clients. Mike has a B.A. degree in Political Science with a minor in History from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Mike is also Series 7 and 66 licensed.

Ted Smith
Vice President, Business Development

Ted joined Mount Yale in 2014 from Fortigent, LLC where he most recently helped build and distribute their multi-asset class and liquid alternative investment turn-key portfolios. Prior to Fortigent, Ted was a founding partner of an education technology start up, Game Plan. Ted has also worked as an analyst for an energy hedge fund and a fund of funds. Ted holds a BS degree in Finance from Lehigh University where he won two League Championships as a member of their football team. Ted holds a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation as well as his series 7 and 65 licenses.

Alex Altman

Alex Altman joined Mount Yale in 2015 as an Investment Analyst. Alex is responsible for conducting alternative product due diligence for the firm’s asset management platform and proprietary investment vehicles. Prior to joining Mount Yale, Alex was a member of U.S. Bank’s Wealth Management division where he worked with the investment products team. Alex holds a B.S.B. in Finance from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.

Chris Snyder
Vice President, Portfolio Management & Research

Chris joined Mount Yale in 2004. He currently oversees asset allocation and portfolio construction for Mount Yale clients and is responsible for performing research on traditional and alternative investment strategies. In addition, Chris acts as portfolio manager for Mount Yale’s Managed Model Portfolios. He holds a B.S. in Business and Administration from the University of Colorado at Boulder and earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.

Zach Slater
Vice President, Portfolio Strategy

Zach joined Mount Yale in 2011 to conduct and oversee research on new investment opportunities. His experience includes evaluating and monitoring traditional, alternative and private investment strategies. Additionally, he has experience transitioning strategies into different investment vehicles. Zach is responsible for sourcing new managers, conducting due diligence on potential managers and ongoing monitoring of current managers and investments. In addition, He serves as a portfolio manager for Mount Yale’s Managed Model Portfolios. He holds a B.S. from the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver.
